With the participation of beekeepers from 17 countries, businessmen and national authorities, the XVI Latin American Beekeeping Congress Filapi 2024in the Pedro Mir Library, of the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD).
A note says that it is a unique platform for beekeepers, researchers, entrepreneurs and beekeeping lovers from around the world to share their experiences, knowledge and explore the latest trends in the industry.

The text explains that it is organized by the International Latin American Beekeeping Federation (Filapi) and the Dominican Agrobusiness Board (JAD), from today until Saturday. This congress, considered the most important beekeeping meeting in Latin America, is organized every two years in the member countries.
He assures that this meeting will not only promote Dominican beekeeping abroad, but will also be a catalyst for the sustainable development of that sector, which will project the Dominican Republic as a benchmark in beekeeping in Latin America and the Caribbean.
It indicates that it brings together beekeepers, researchers, businessmen and authorities in the sector, in order to exchange knowledge and scientific advances on beekeeping.
Immediately, Osmar Benitezexecutive president of the JAD, highlighted that for the first time, the country hosts an activity aimed at beekeepers, with the participation of producers from 17 countries, which represents a great opportunity to unify that sector.
He pointed out the need to have more professionals in that area and called on universities to incorporate subjects related to beekeeping in their academic programs.
