Latam will temporarily suspend, as of April, 21 national routes due to the increase in fuel prices. Most impacted flights will be suspended between April and June, but there is a specific schedule for each one.Latam suspends 21 domestic flights due to fuel increase

Some flights affected were on routes that were yet to be inaugurated, such as routes between São Paulo and cities such as Montes Claros and Juiz de Fora, in Minas Gerais; Presidente Prudente, in São Paulo; Cascavel, in Paraná; and Sinop, in Mato Grosso. Other routes that were in operation were also suspended.

According to the airline, those who had already purchased a flight to these destinations are being informed by Latam and will be able to reschedule the flight at no cost, request a full refund of the amount paid or opt for an alternative route with a connection. All these alternatives are valid until the ticket expires, 12 months after the date of purchase.

In a note, Latam explained that it is aware of the external vulnerability due to the war in Ukraine, which directly impacts the price of oil and, consequently, the values of aviation kerosene. The company also highlights that, given the unpredictability of the crisis, this scenario also impacts the price of tickets and additional services by up to 30%.
