Latam Airlines Peru indefinitely suspended flights at Jauja airport, in Junín, due to the deterioration of its landing track. The airline explained that, given the bad condition of the track, it cannot guarantee a safe operation for passengers, which led to take this measure with great regret.

The company recalled that it began operating in Jauja in 2017, improving the connectivity of the region with Lima and other parts of the country. However, over the years, the track was progressively deteriorated, and despite the attempts to maintain flights, the situation has not improved enough to ensure aerial safety.

Latam asked the corresponding authorities, such as Corpac and the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, to repair the landing floor as soon as possible to resume the flights. Passengers affected by the suspension may change their flight at no additional cost or request reimbursements.
