The Senate Agreements Commission concluded this Wednesday the last of three hearings in which it dealt this week with a total of 65 appointments for the Judiciary from different provinces, after which the specifications will be sent for final approval to the plenary session of the Upper House .

The commission chaired by the Peronist for Mendoza Anabel Fernández Sagasti listened to the presentations of 26 candidates for deputy judges for courts from different districts of the country, which were added to the 24 documents analyzed this Wednesday and the 15 applicants last week.

In Thursday’s hearing, senators from Together for Change demanded the appointment of judges and prosecutors in vacant courts in cities such as Rosario and Santa Fe, affected by the number of crimes related to drug trafficking.

On the payroll discussed today were the candidates for associate judges of the Federal Oral Criminal Courts of Mendoza, Diego Lavado and Patricia Santoni, and of the Federal Court of Appeals of Mendoza, Ramiro Salinas and Fernando Peñaloza

One of the applicants, Juan Pablo Savay, proposed by the Executive Power to be appointed judge of the Federal Chamber of Córdoba, answered questions related to an accusation that he received when he was working as an employee of a prosecutor’s office.

Savay was accused of extracting a file from the court where he worked, something that is prohibited, and explained that after that fact he reported episodes of mistreatment by a superior.

Visibly moved and after answering questions from the senator of his province, Luis Juez (JXC), the candidate framed the situation around which he was denounced in the fact that “he knew something that he should not know” since he “attached a copy of a file I shouldn’t have”.
