Last group of Venezuelan migrants returned to their country and closed temporary shelter

The last group of Venezuelan migrants that was in the temporary shelter located in Viejo Veranillo, returned to their country this Thursday, for this reason the Panamanian authorities proceeded with the closure of the temporary shelter for irregular migrants.

A total of 145 Venezuelan migrants, including 30 children, who were taken by bus by personnel from the National Immigration Service to the Tocumen International Airport, to return to Venezuela.

According to the Ministry of Public Security, it was thanks to the donation of air tickets from the Seventh-day Adventist Church that the migrants were able to undertake their journey.

The temporary shelter of Viejo Veranillo, which was enabled thanks to the contract made by the diplomatic delegation of Venezuela in Panama, received for more than a month some 12,000 irregular Venezuelan migrants, to whom the Republic of Panama provided humanitarian aid with food and Free transport.
