Regarding this political scenario in the Chamber, Lasso stated: “I am not going to accept a clearly conspiratorial attitude against democracy and stability.”
And he insisted that as President of the Republic, “he would never participate in an intervention in a function of the State that is autonomous”, as is the case of the Council for Citizen Participation and Social Control (CPCCS) or the Legislative itself.
Llori herself, who the day before suspended a parliamentary session in which several issues were going to be analyzed, assured that the interest of these political groups is «destabilize the National Assembly and the country, because they are desperate to take over the CPCCS”, an agency that must appoint authorities from inspection entities and the National Electoral Council.
UNES legislator Pabel Muñoz rejected Llori’s performance, just when parliamentary groups wanted the formation of a commission to be discussed to evaluate his performance in the Legislative.
On the other hand, lasso assured that his Administration has not been immersed in acts of corruption; He recalled that 84% of the population over five years of age is already vaccinated in the country and that the country’s hospitals are stocked with medicines, especially for diseases such as cancer.
He explained that next month, the Executive will launch an unprecedented system for the distribution and delivery of medicines from the Public Health System. The shortage has generated many complaints from patients and families, forced to put money out of their pockets to cover hospital needs.
William Lasso He insisted that citizen and national security are a primary concern and that firm actions have been taken to combat drug trafficking and organized crime. As proof of this, he pointed out that in 2021, 210 tons of drugs were seized, a historical record in the country.
