What does the regulation contain
The abortion in cases of rape is legal in Ecuador since April 2021. However, the National Assembly had to generate a regulation that determines deadlines, requirements and other aspects for girls and women victims of sexual violence who decide to access this right.
The Law establishes that pregnancy in cases of violation It may be interrupted up to 12 weeks of gestation in those over 18 years of age and up to 18 weeks in the case of girls, adolescents and women in rural areas.
