Las Bambas signs a contract with the Fuerabamba community company to transport copper concentrate

The Las Bambas mining company reported this Tuesday that it had signed a five-year contract with the community company Apu Llallawa, from Fuerabamba, for the transportation of copper concentrate.

In this way, he pointed out that it promotes associativity as a mechanism to maximize the positive impact of contracting local services.

This is a great responsibility and opportunity. It is a step that really benefits the community. We will continue, the company and the community, hand in hand moving forward”, said Edison Vargas, president of the Fuerabamba community.

For his part, Edgardo Orderique, General Manager of Operations at Minera Las Bambas, indicated that it is “a historic milestone for Las Bambas and the surrounding communities, since an agreement of mutual benefit is finalized through understanding and dialogue”.

Apu Llallawa’s challenge is great. As MLB we are making a great effort to accompany you and we hope to work hand in hand to ensure that you have a safe, effective and efficient operation.”, said Christian Palacios, Logistics Manager of Minera Las Bambas.

About the service

The service will be provided with a fleet of 50 state-of-the-art trucks, which meet Las Bambas standards, such as the Euro 5 emission regulations, silent engines, technological devices for fatigue detection and driver assistance. They will be operated with trained and certified personnel.

The objective of Las Bambas is to promote the local provision of the greatest possible number of services that it requires for its operation, as well as to develop sustainable entrepreneurs that can provide services to other markets.”, indicated Sebastián Lobo, Minera Las Bambas Supply Manager.

It should be noted that Apu Llallawa, like other community and associative companies, is part of the Las Bambas mining company’s development program for local entrepreneurs, which has been working on strengthening, training and accompanying management of the provision of various services that has been carried out with success in the mining operation and along the South Highway Corridor.
