The head of the Buenos Aires Government, Horacio Rodríguez Larreta, will give a press conference this Friday to refer to the definition by the national government of considering the ruling of the Supreme Court of Justice (CSJN) to be “impossible to comply” on the percentage of co-participation funds for the City of Buenos Aires.
Sources from the Buenos Aires Executive reported that the press conference will be held at 10 at the headquarters at Uspallata 3160, in the Parque Patricios neighborhood.
The call happens after a series of meetings that the mayor of Buenos Aires held with officials from the Treasury and Finance area in the last hoursafter the decision of the President Alberto Fernandez to challenge the decision of the highest court that increased to 2.95 the coefficient that the City receives for co-participating funds.
The CSJN resolution was in response to a lawsuit filed by the Rodríguez Larreta administration as a result of the redirection of funds determined in 2020 by the national government.
Meanwhile, the call for an extraordinary session in the Buenos Aires Legislature was confirmed, promoted by the Juntos por el Cambio interblock, to deal with the repeal of the tax on credit cards, a tax that was created by the Buenos Aires State to compensate for the reduction of the percentage of the co-participation of two years ago.
The session will be held at 8:30 a.m., with a closed agenda, which includes the project sent by the Executive to eliminate the tax, as well as ten other files prepared by the different blocks in recent months that promote, with nuances, similar measures.
Within this framework, sources from the Buenos Aires ruling party indicated that they will introduce into the wording of the text that they intend to approve this Friday a “conditioning” that maintains that the repeal of the tax will be subject to the entry into force of the ruling of the highest court through which the State of the City receives 2.95.
