LAP: 57 charters that arrived for the Copa Libertadores final were attended

The CEO of Lima Airport Partners (LAP)Juan José Salmon, reported that the Jorge Chávez airport received 154 additional flights for the final of the Copa Libertadores, between 97 private and 57 charters, all served normally.

He explained to RPP that, under regular conditions, the airport operates about 283 flights daily, so the extraordinary flow in just three days represented a significant challenge. He even pointed out that the volume of private aircraft exceeded what was recorded during APEC.

For his part, Juan Stoessel, CEO of Casa Andina, estimated that apart from tickets, the arrival of tourists for the Libertadores final would have generated income of between US$20 million and US$25 million.

Salmon highlighted that this movement demonstrates the need for the country to commit to attracting more international activities. He added that Peru will receive around 3 million tourists this year, still below 2019 levels, and proposed setting a goal of 10 million visitors by 2030 as a national objective.
