Landslide in Andahuaylas buries equipment and materials, they search for fatalities (VIDEO)

The Andahuaylas authorities in Apurímac continue with the investigation work to determine if the landslide of a large part of a hill in the Huayhuaca sector left or not fatalities.

The incident occurred last Monday afternoon, when an immense cloud of dust alerted the residents of the Huayhuaca sector about the detachment of the hill of the same name.which buried a warehouse of materials and equipment belonging to the local municipality.

After the incident, the slightly injured were taken to the health center in the area, and They reported that there was a mother with a girl in the place waiting for transportation to the Huancabamba area.

Police and firefighters immediately arrived in the area to start search and rescue efforts with negative results, in the words of Colonel PNP Alexis Lujan, So far there are no fatalities however this cannot be completely ruled out.

“We are still waiting for a report of someone missing in the area, so far we have nothing about it, we have had a meeting and the engineers of the municipality of Pochccota they are going to make a risk assessment report to proceed with the clearing of the area”, pointed to Mail.

The constant rains in the area have generated several landslides in the high zone of Andahuaylas, Therefore, the authorities have called on the population to remain alert and stay away from areas where rocks and debris fall.

FACT:

– The landslide of the hill known as ‘Guardian of the Chanka People’ also interrupted the passage on the road to the town of Pochccota and other arteries of Andahuaylas, heavy machinery is moved to the area for road clearance and rehabilitation work.
