Landowners report flooding of their properties due to obstruction of the border wall in Vigía Dajabón

The Watchman.- Farmers of the agrarian reform in the Coco, Sánchez and Finca Metz sectors of this community in the Dajabón municipality, reported that their rice crops are being lost due to flooding caused by the obstruction of the wall in this part of the border.

According to the complainants, the waste water has no outlet, after the construction of the work near the Saladillo lagoon, because the appropriate measures were not taken for this purpose.

Rice producers said that due to the accumulation of water due to the lack of drainage, the water is heating up due to high temperatures and damaging crops, so they requested urgent intervention from INDRHI authorities in the face of this situation.

Representatives of the plots and farms planted with rice argue that if the authorities do not intervene within a reasonable period of time, they will use picks and weeds to even the border wall to resolve the problem affecting them.
