In the first half of 2022, they transported 45,362,479 people on the country’s roads and in 2019, 71,319,950 land passengers were mobilized, which is equivalent to 63.3% of what was transported in that same pre-pandemic period.
However, although there is still a long way to go, on the path of growth, these figures between January and June 2022 showed a growth in the number of passengers on land transport compared to the same period last year when mobilized 25,715,756 people on the roads of the country. This meant an increase of 76.4%.
In this regard, Hernando Tatis, director of the Andi Passenger Transport Chamber highlighted this balance.
“2022 has been quite positive for ground passenger transport and we continue to see that people continue to trust and prefer this service. The figures for the first half of 2022 almost double those of 2021, which shows significant growth that we hope will continue to consolidate in the second half,” Tatis said.

In this year, the most frequent routes were Bogotá-Sogamoso with 277,637 passengers, Sogamoso – Bogotá with 199,296 and Villavicencio – Bogotá with 195,038. Andi also indicated the preference of Colombians for using ground transportation (80%) versus the air sector (20%).
