Monte Plata – Members of the National Police and the Public Ministry were greeted with stones, bottle blows and various other objects in the El Batey Verde community of Sabana Grande de Boyá, by people who were supposedly invading land.
Colonel Ignacio Losace, Deputy Commander of the National Police in Monte Plata, was injured in the confrontation.
A police report indicates that the agents were forced to launch several tear gas canisters, arresting Mr. Eladio Pérez Ruiz, a resident of the aforementioned batey.
Judge Edita Heredia, Colonel Ignacio Losace Guante, together with Colonel Martínez Garcia, Zonal Supervisor of Sabana Grande de Boyá, and other members of the institution of order, were present at the scene.
It was not established whether the land that caused the incident is private state land.
