In May 2021, Laidy Gómez described Freddy Bernal as a “coffee smuggler” and a year later the former “protector” warned him that he would take legal action against him
The former governor of the Táchira state, Laidy Gómez, denounced this Tuesday, July 12, that the provisional judge Maurima Molina Colmenares ratified the sentence against the leader of Democratic Action in which she is deprived of her home due to the lawsuit filed by the current regional president, Freddy Bernal, who sued her for “moral damages” and asked for 12 million dollars in compensation.
Gomez, using his social networks, published the last page of the court ruling in which it is stated that the prohibition on encumbering and disposing of “identified assets” is maintained; in the case of the house where the former governor currently lives.

At the beginning of June, Laidy Gómez denounced that Bernal sued her for alleged “moral damage” and said at that time that it was issued an action against your main home, claiming that it was his only possession, and where he lives with his daughter. For this reason, she then recalled that his property was “unattachable according to Venezuelan law.”
In May 2021, when she was still governor, Gómez strongly criticized the then deputy and “protector” of the Andean entity, Freddy Bernal, who in his last statements threatened the Tachiren merchants “with 15 days to remove Colombian coffee from the shelves.”
“Who are you to give merchants 15 days when you are the promoter of smuggling in Táchira? Abuser! ”, Sentenced the regional president, who also called the parliamentarian “having double standards”, she said.
A year later, Bernal -already in possession of the position of governor of Táchira- warned Gómez that in the future I could go to report it to legal instances for alleged defamation, “when she exercised the regional public administration she called me a coffee smuggler”
