The president of the Congress, Lady Camones (Alliance for Progress), referred to the recent changes in the National Police (PNP) and stated that it would demonstrate an apparent obstruction of the investigation being carried out by the Prosecutor’s Office.
Through his Twitter account, he indicated that the president peter castle incurs a “new act of abuse of power” in the Police and still does not understand that the institutions are at the service of the country and not for the defense of personal purposes.
“Faced with this outrage, I have coordinated with the president of the Defense Commission, General Williams Zapata, so that he summons the Minister of the Interior, Willy Huertas, for Monday, August 29, at 9 a.m., so that he can report on the reasons that gave rise to these questionable changes, given an apparent neglect of the institution’s procedures”noted on the social network
“This case of affectation to the institutionality of the Police would demonstrate an apparent obstruction to the investigation process that the Prosecutor’s Office has been deploying. We demand respect for the rule of law and the autonomy of the powers of the state”sentenced.
The Government appointed this Saturday, August 27, the lieutenant general of the PNP Raul Enrique Alfaro Alvarado as new PNP Commander General replacing PNP Lieutenant General of Arms Luis Alberto Vera Llerenawho held this position since last May.
Alfaro Alvarado had been serving as inspector general of the PNP. He was appointed to that position at the end of May. On that same date, Vera Llerena was appointed General Commander of the Police.
Likewise, through supreme resolution 135-2022-IN, published in the bulletin of legal regulations of the newspaper El Peruano, the Executive Power appointed Segundo Leoncio Mejia Montenegro as the new inspector general of the PNP.
The document, which bears the signatures of the President peter castle and the minister Willy Huertaalso promotes the aforementioned member of the Police from General of Arms to Lieutenant General.
All this occurs two days after it became known that the legal defense of Castillo Terrones filed a complaint against Colonel PNP Harvey Colchado before the General Police Inspectorate.
