Lady Camones on Castillo's silence in the Prosecutor's Office: "It gives a message of obstruction of justice"

The head of Congress, questioned the attitude of President Pedro Castillo of keeping silent in his presentation before the Nation’s prosecutor, Patricia Benavides.

Upon leaving a ceremony for Judge’s Day, at the Palace of Justice, Camones described the president’s attitude as “regrettable.”

“This attitude he has had is unfortunate. He is giving a message of apparent obstruction of justice,” she stated.

He added that although the head of state has the right to remain silent, he is giving a “double speech” because at first he assured that he will collaborate with the investigations, but later he did not declare.

RULES OUT APPROACH

On the other hand, Camones ruled out that Alianza Para el Progreso has an approach or collaboration with the Executive.

“Hardly (there will be) a consensus with the Executive,” he emphasized.
