The congresswoman from the Alliance for Progress and censored former president of Parliament, Lady Camoneswas elected this Thursday by the Permanent Commission of Congress as President of the Subcommittee on Constitutional Accusations for the period 2022-2023.
Camones Soriano is accompanied by legislators Waldemar Cerrón (vice president) and Noelia Herrera (secretary). The list was proposed by Fujimorist Hernando Guerra García and received 26 votes in favor, 3 against and 2 abstentions.
Paul Gutiérrez (Perú Libre), Álex Paredes (Bloque Magisterial) and Héctor Valer (Somos Perú) did not support the formula, while Susel Paredes (Integrity and Development) and José Balcázar (Perú Bicentenario) abstained.
Lady Camones will take over from her colleague Rosio Torres as head of the subcommittee, who, according to sources in The Republicwould resign from APP for not having been ratified as president of the SAC.
Complaints against Castillo and Boluarte
Now installed the Board of Directors of the Subcommittee on Constitutional Accusations, the constitutional complaints against President Pedro Castillo and Vice President Dina Boluarte may continue to be evaluated by the congressmen who are members of the body of the Permanent Commission.
In the case of Castillo Terrones, the final report has already been submitted by the delegate of the complaint, the pro-populist Wilson Soto, and recommends that the head of state be disqualified from exercising public office for the alleged crime of treason.
Meanwhile, Boluarte Zegarra is accused of having committed a constitutional violation by signing documents as president of the Apurímac departmental club when she was already Minister of Development and Social Inclusion and Vice President of the Republic.
