Lack of rule of law and insecurity will harm GDP: analysts

A few days before the celebrations for September 15, Sinaloa was involved in days of violence that lasted for a few weeks and involved dozens of deaths and missing people in the state.

The clashes between the criminal groups of “Los Chapitos” and “Los Mayos” have left dozens of people injured, businesses closed and classes suspended.

The analysts they also made a cut growth expectations economic of Mexico to 1.2% for the following yearfrom 1.5%.

58% of the analysts consulted by Banxico estimate that governance problems will affect growth, while 14% of those surveyed said it will be the country’s internal conditions.

External conditions received 12% in the survey, mainly due to exchange rate uncertainty and international political instability.

The survey was carried out between September 24 and 27.

Inflation concerns eased this month and even analysts expect headline inflation to close the year at 4.44% and core inflation at 3.83%.
