Lacalle valued the communicator as “a companion on the road and life of many”

President Luis Lacalle Pou I travel to long hill this Saturday to participate in the celebration of the 55 years of the traditional program “Hora de Campo”led by the renowned communicator Serrano Abella.
Lacalle attended the anniversary program of the radio broadcast of the program, held at the headquarters of the Melo Agricultural Society from 10 a.m. The president dedicated a few words to Abella, whom he valued as “a companion of the route and life of many”.
In a press conference held after his participation, the president appreciated that “everyone who was in the interior of the country knows who the Serrano is”.
“I didn’t know him but first I admired him”acknowledged the president.
“Then I had the pleasure of exchanging with him several times. We have several friends in common. I wanted to come this Sunday to greet him and recognize him”he added.
In the press conference held after the program, Lacalle Pou announced that the government “unfortunately” he is going to give up on the transformation of the Graf Spee eagle in a sculpture of the dove of peace.
“I think there’s a overwhelming majority that does not share this decision and if one wants to generate peace, the first thing that has to be generated is union. Clearly this has not generated it”Lacalle Pou commented on the artistic intervention that he had proposed to the sculptor Pablo Atchugarry.
