The President of the Republic, Luis Lacalle Pou, presented in his 2022 affidavit, before the Board of Transparency and Public Ethics (JUTEP), that he has assets of around US$490,000, while reporting two incomes, one for the salary that he earns as president, which today is $449,703, and another for the rent of his house in the private neighborhood La Tahona, which is $124,095.

Per month, the president earns $573,798.

The breakdown of his assets says that he has bank deposits of $360,245, a Toyota van with a registered value of $2,068,250 (equivalent to more than US$51,000), and a house valued at about US$420,000, which in Uruguayan pesos would be little. more than $16.7 million.

As a liability, he has a mortgage debt of almost $3 million (about $74,000).

His ex-partner, Lorena Ponce de León, is also mentioned in Lacalle’s affidavit, which earns income of $140,000 per month from a one-person company, and has assets of $22,263,196 (about US$550,000).
