The president of the Republic, Luis Lacalle Poureceives this Wednesday at Torre Ejecutiva a delegation from the Broad Front (FA) to analyze the situation that the country is going through due to the water crisis, which led to a worsening of the quality of the OSE supply in Montevideo and the metropolitan area.
The meeting had been requested last week by the president of the FA, Fernando Pereira, given the “worsening of the water crisis,” the opposition explained in a statement.
The FA will be represented at the meeting by Pereira, but also by the vice president of the political force, Verónica Piñeiro; the president of the Interior Commission, the former mayor of Rocha Aníbal Pereyra; the mayor of Canelones, Yamandú Orsi; the director of Environmental Development of the Municipality of Montevideo, Guillermo Moncecchi; the director of OSE for the opposition, Edgardo Ortuño; Senator Liliam Kechichian and Deputy Lucía Etcheverry.
The opposition has been critical of the government’s handling of the water crisis and complains because it understands that the measures that were taken came late.
