Lacalle Pou received the president of the Xunta de Galicia, Alfonso Rueda Valenzuela

The President of the Republic, Luis Lacalle Pou, met this Monday 17th with the head of the Xunta de Galicia, Alfonso Rueda Valenzuela, at Suárez’s residence. The Iberian leader thanked the president for his knowledge of the reality of the community in Uruguay, which exceeds 40,000 Galicians.

The meeting was also attended by a delegation made up of the Spanish ambassador to Uruguay, José Javier Gómez-Llera y García-Nava, and the Secretary General for Emigration, Antonio Rodríguez Miranda, among other authorities from that Spanish community.

Upon leaving the meeting, Rueda Valenzuela pointed out that it opens channels of collaboration between the parties and highlighted the presence of Galician companies in Uruguay. He added that the way they were received symbolizes the constant love and close relationship between our nation and Galicia.
