Lacalle Pou in the Patria Gaucha and Lucas Sugo’s request about the war between Russia and Ukraine

The traditional parade of horses and riders, within the framework of the 35th edition of the Feast of the Gaucha Homeland of Tacuarembowas held this Saturday the 12th, and was attended by the President of the Republic, Luis Lacalle Pou.

The activity brought together more than 4,000 horses that paraded through the departmental capital and culminated with a tribute to General José Gervasio Artigas in the square April 19.

The activity included the participation of historical cars and carriages from Creole societies from all over the country, in which men, women and children participated.

after the parade, the authorities proceeded to place floral offerings at the foot of the monument to General Artigas located in the Plaza 19 de Abril. The main tribute was given by President Lacalle Pou; who deposited his offering with Mayor Ezquerra, Minister Moreira; the president of the organizing commission, Hugo Pereda, and the godmother of the event, Laetitia d’Aremberg.

The Feast of the Gaucha Homeland, which this year it was held from March 7 to 13, it was created in 1986, in order to highlight the figure of the gaucho and have the participation of nativist societies. The celebration offers musical and dance shows, contests, bonfires, exhibitions and equestrian activities in the ring.

As part of the parade, the singer Lucas Sugo paraded with his daughter and his mother who carried a poster asking for the war to stop.
