(The alphabet of the labor reform proposed by the merchants of the country).
For several days this subcommittee has been meeting around 18 key issues, which will be the main axis of the project.
According to the Minister of Labor, Gloria Inés Ramírez, in the discussions stand out “Labor and constitutional principles, job stability and contract modalities, outsourcing, subcontracting and business unit, control of use of contract for the provision of services, apprenticeship contract, Sunday and holidays, night shift, automation, decarbonization, brought on platforms digital, rural, informal, sexual and migrant work, equity and gap reduction, trade union association, collective bargaining and strike”.
One of those issues that are part of the analysis is the apprenticeship contract, known as labor practices.
(Adjustment to night labor pay and more business labor requests).
The reform contemplates that these activities are tied to a labor contract, which will be governed by a written contract and in which the employee or intern agrees to provide services to an employer.
In any case, this contract would not exceed two years.
Regarding the payment, the initial salary in the professional practices “It may not be in any case less than 50% of the legal minimum wage, or that set in the pacts, collective agreements or arbitration rulings.”
(Businessmen and unions presented proposals for labor reform).
Additionally, the proposal indicates, during the fulfillment of the contract, the agreed salary will be increased at the beginning of the practical phase untilat least, 100% of the legal minimum wage or that agreed in collective agreements or arbitration rulings”.
Through these modifications, it is sought that there is a Comprehensive Vocational Training process for duly structured theoretical-practical work and its performance contributes to the necessary replacement and comprehensive qualification of the country’s workforce.
