He reform project to the Colombian labor system has already survived its passage through the House of Representatives and now it is waiting to be discussed for the first time in the other legislative body: the Senate of the Republic.

Among the new articles, the formalization and employment contracting of passenger and cargo transport workers, productive activities of people deprived of labor freedom, measures against discrimination of people reinstated in the framework of the armed conflict, first job and last job programamong others.
“With this project, the Government of Change seeks to recover the labor rights of all Colombians who work every day for a better country. Articles related to the recovery of the daytime work day until 7 pm, the increase in remuneration on rest days and complementary hours stand out.“, highlighted the portfolio, recalling that the initiative revolves around the job stabilityso in the project the indefinite-term employment contract will be prioritized.

The Mintrabajo also highlights the article 78which seeks official connection to the Colombian Institute of Family Welfare (ICBF)of community mothers (fathers). The portfolio explained that “It is essential for young people to work on the learning contract. For people who work informally, measures will be taken to promote formalization“.
Now, the reform only needs to be debated in the Senate Commission VIIdiscussion that will take place in the coming days.
