Labor reform: change cessations would have cost

Reforma laboral: Cambio cesantía tendría costo

The president of the National Confederation of Dominican Workers (CNTD) And deputy to Congress, Jacobo Ramos, warned that the trade union movement will remain firm in defense of labor rights before the imminent discussion of the new Labor Code in Congress.

During his participation in the Congress of the Regional Federation of South Unions (Fresur), Ramos stressed that one of the immediate tasks will be to meet with the senator and the deputies of Barahona, to whom he warned that any attempt to eliminate the labor cessation or more flexible the labor code to the detriment of the workers will have political consequences.

“The Dominican workers will not allow setbacks. If it is attentive against the unemployment or against the conquered rights, the working people will know how to take its toll at the time,” he said. Another parallel battle is the reform of the Social Security Law.
