Labor practices: The call for Young Status for students is now open

The Ministry of Labor and the Administrative Department of the Civil Service announced that the terms of reference of the call have already been published so that state entities of the national order, PDET municipalities, capital city halls, governorates and border municipalities request their internship places within the framework of the tenth call of the Young State Program for the first semester of 2023.

The director of Public Function, César Manrique, wants to make a call for all the entities that can participate to do so; especially those at the territorial level since this time they were enabled governorates, capital city halls, PDET city halls and 30 city halls more than they belong to municipalities in border areas, since the priority of the program is to reach young people in the territory and that they are interested in the public sector and in working for their communities.

Authorized state entities can apply for their internship positions until October 18, 2022. This process must be carried out through the application form inscription found in this link.

Young State, the program led by the Ministry of Labor and the Administrative Department of Public Function, which facilitates young students to carry out work practices in the public sector, reaches its Tenth Call. Since its creation in 2016, it has benefited 11,518 students, of which 1,776 have completed their internships in PDET municipalities.

The program is aimed at young people between 15 and 28 years of age, who are students of training programs at the normalist, labor and professional technician, technologist, undergraduate university levels or comprehensive professional training programs of the National Apprenticeship Service ( SENA), which within their academic plans contemplate as a requirement to qualify for the degree, the development of a practical stage.

The internships offered by the Estado Joven Program will have a maximum duration of five months, full time, and an hourly intensity of 38 hours a week.

The selected students will receive the payment of a monthly practice aid, which is equivalent to a current legal monthly minimum wage (SMMLV), which is currently equivalent to 1 million pesos ($1,000,000).

Finally, young people under the age of 18 selected to occupy an internship require authorization from the Ministry of Labor to be able to carry out the internship in any of the authorized state entities.

  • Consult the terms of reference for state entities, which can be found on the microsite enabled by the Civil Service, on the website of the Ministry of Labor or on the following link.
  • Verify that your entity is included in Annex #1 “Accredited Entities”.
  • Carry out the registration and application of the internship places through the following form.
