Labor informality is one of the most persistent problems in the Mexican labor market. Although during the strict confinement that was experienced during 2020, now, two years after the arrival of Covid-19, informality reinstated these jobs.
As of March 2022, the labor informality rate stood at 55.6%, according to figures from the ENOE (National Survey of Occupation and Employment).
Domestic work, the agricultural sector, manufacturing and commerce are some of the sectors with the highest prevalence of informality.
