The fight against unemployment must be given with strategies that point to the relevance of talent and labor flexibility that even differentiates the work of the countryside and that of the cities.

That will be one of the approaches that Aliadas, the alliance of Colombian associations and unions, will make tomorrow, which will hold its first National Congress in Bogotá. Aliadas was born on October 5, 2021 with 15 members and to date has 31 and another 7 who process their entry.
Total, brings together 6,400 companies that generate 3.5 million jobs and that have coverage in more than 90% of the national territory.
The Congress that It will be attended by President Iván Duque, five ministers and seven pre-candidates, it seeks to analyze and present proposals on urgent issues for the country’s development.
María Claudia Lacouture, president of Aliadas, says that one of the central proposals of the private sector in Congress is related to the urgency that the next government present labor and pension reforms.

In his opinion, both should promote sustainable and equitable development and should not obstruct business development.
In the case of labor flexibility, he says that the new conditions must include having a focus on the needs of agriculture.
“You cannot have egalitarian parameters in the countryside and in the city, it has to be differentiated. There are some variables that are applied differently in that labor flexibility”, he explained.
Likewise, he said that it is fundamental in the employment generation policy to look for relevant talent. “We have to focus on what talent the country requires according to business needs,” argues.
PRIORITY AGENDA
María Claudia Lacouture explained that the Congress, which will be in session all day and will close with a debate between pre-candidates for the Presidency, has five thematic axes that, as well as being analyzed with the Government, will also be addressed with the candidates to succeed Duke with the in order to make substantive proposals and present their commitments.
According to the programme, the first of these thematic axes is that of “Technological infrastructure and digital transformation” as a bet for the country’s growth and productivity.
“Talent and employability” It will be the second segment, taking into account that the country’s economic recovery will be sustainable to the extent that more jobs can be recovered and generated.
The third segment is that of “Sustainability and climate change”, an issue in which Colombia has assumed regional leadership, but requires the support of the private sector.
An analysis of “Regulation and legal stability” as essential tools for business growth, investment attraction and innovation is also included in the Congress agenda.
And the last topic to be discussed is that of “Tax Perspectives”.
For the unions and associations that are part of Aliadas this issue is fundamental “To the extent that the country needs a stable and efficient collection system, as well as finding the tools to neutralize informality, smuggling, piracy, among other problems.”
