In the country, motherhood is a factor that impacts the labor development of women, since six years after having their first child, they experience a salary penalty of 24 percent and a 16 percent drop in labor formality, said Zoé Robledo, general director of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS).

He added that the employment rate between women with children and those who do not have them presents a gap that ranges between 17 and 22 points and stressed that the participation of the female labor sector is still low, because It achieves just 46.7 percent, the percentage of men is 75.7.

In the signing of the Framework and Specific Agreements of collaboration between the IMSS and the Women CECI, of which 200 are in the planning stage.

Through these agreements, strategies aimed at those who face inequalities linked to the territory, ethnic origin, gender, age and other factors that cause disadvantage will be established.
