Labor demand grew 12% in January 2022 compared to December 2021 and increased 105% compared to the same month of the previous year with a marked search for profiles with English.

English as the main language
The English It is the most demanded language by companies, according to Advice’s labor monitor. In January 2022, 996 were the proposals that requested to have knowledge of this language, which represented 22% of the total calls.
Regarding the level of command of English, 66% requested an advanced level and the 34% intermediate. Technology is the one that demanded more talents with knowledge of English and one of every two opportunities generated in this activity required language management. Human Resources and communication-marketing were the other activities that most handled the language as a requirement.
The second language most required by companies was Portuguese, with 129 opportunities, accumulating 3% of the total.

In terms of geographical distribution, in the month of January, of calls with data, 73% corresponds to calls in Montevideo, 19% to the interior of the country and 8% to Uruguay, without specifying department.
From a monthly perspective Montevideo increased the number of job opportunities by 14% and increased in the rest of the country 55%. From the year-on-year perspective Montevideo increased the number of opportunities by 1,297, which represents a 111% increase. The rest of the country as a whole increased 208% in January 2022with 447 calls more than the same month of the previous year.
Of the departments, without considering Montevideo, Canelones is the one that demanded the most charges in January 2022with the 6% of opportunities generated in Uruguay, followed by Jump and Maldonado with 5% each.
