From this Monday to Friday, December 6, the XXVII Championship of the Men’s Superior Volleyball League will take place in La Paz, where the Cochabambino club Olympic will defend the title it won last year and for this occasion it will have Maranatha from Santa Cruz as a participant. .
Olympic, five-time champion of this competition, is the main favorite to win it again and at the same time qualify for next year’s South American League.
The other five clubs are: the Vallunos San Martín and Nimbles; Club Deportivo Ejercito from La Paz and Santa Cruz Utepsa and Maranatha, which occupies the space left vacant by San Simón from Cochabamba as they were last in the last edition, which meant their relegation.
“It’s going to be a busy week. “Today began with the review of the accreditation and qualification of players from all teams,” said Freddy León, president of the Bolivian Volleyball Federation.
For this tournament, the main club level tournament in the country’s senior category, four clubs will have foreign reinforcements.
They are “Olympic, San Martín, Deportivo Ejercito and Maranatha. Nimbles will have national reinforcements and Utepsa did not add players,” León noted.
All matches will be played on court A of the closed Julio Borelli Viterito Coliseum in La Paz.
The competition mode will be all against all, of which the one who occupies the first square at the end of the tournament will be crowned the winner.
This means that there will be three games on each day during the five days of the championship.
The three matches that will be played this Monday are the following: Olympic vs. Nimbles (17:00), San Martín vs. Maranatha (19:00) and Deportivo Army vs. Utepsa (9:00 p.m.).
