Erick Ortega / La Paz
The seat of government is part of the La Paz Nature City Challenge international contest. This contest is a global collaborative effort to document observations of plants and animals in cities.
The city leads in two categories: more observations and more participants. Until 21:00 yesterday, 57,080 observations were registered and 2,965 people participated. In 2019 there were 46,931 observations and 1,500 people participated.
This activity is divided into two phases. The first, from April 29 to May 2, consists of taking pictures of any type of wildlife in the gardens, streets, parks and natural areas of the La Paz metropolitan region. The second phase, from May 3 to 8, consists of identifying the species photographed.
