La Oroya: They have registered about 280 complaints of violence so far this year

The coordinator of the Women’s Emergency Center of the La Oroya police station, psychologist Alex Ore, in the middle of the Day of the fight against violence against women, pointed out that in the province of Yauli La Oroya in the month of October there have been registered 32 cases of violence and so far in the month of November there are 25 cases reported specifically by women of all ages

Likewise, he indicated that as of November 25 there are 280 complaints in total, that is, there is an average of 25 complaints each month, not counting many cases that exist but are not reported. For this reason, we are working with a prevention strategy, which aims to reach secondary school students so that they can report attacks that almost 90% occur by people in their family environment.

Finally, he pointed out that the figures for 2024 have already exceeded the 250 complaints for the year 2023, indicating that the district with the highest complaint numbers is Santa Rosa de Sacco, followed by the capital district of La Oroya and the district of Suitucancha.
