Around 200 residents of the Valle de Dios town center avoided the free movement of vehicles near the Virú Bridge, as a form of protest against the increase in citizen insecurity experienced in the La Libertad region.

In that sense, the protesters assured that, in the last week, four homicides have been reported, in addition to other criminal acts such as shootings and detonation of explosive devices in businesses that are extruded.

Citizens used stones, sticks and burned tires to block the road, which caused dozens of vehicles to be stranded since Sunday night.

Police officers from the Special Services Unit were transferred to the area to control the situation. However, this Monday there were three road blockages: in Puente Chao, San José and Valle de Dios.
