The National Police reports that after arduous monitoring work, Olten Guzmán and/or Yohan Pérez, alias “La Greña”, were killed in La Romana, a known criminal who remained a fugitive from justice after having escaped from the Correctional Center and Cucama Rehabilitation, where he was serving a 20-year prison sentence for having committed multiple robberies.
According to the police report, “La Greña” kept the residents of Villa Hermosa, in the aforementioned province, in anxiety.
The incident occurred in the La Sabanita sector, after the agents responded following a complaint from a sergeant of the institution, who reported having been assaulted and threatened with sexual assault by the deceased.
The report continues that “La Greña”, upon noticing the police presence, opened fire on the officers, forcing the uniformed officers to repel the attack.
At the scene, a Dan Wesson brand revolver, 38 special caliber, was seized, as well as four cell phones, scissors and a set of keys, belongings that had been stolen minutes before from employees of the free zone of that town.
The body was transferred to the Regional Institute of Forensic Sciences (INACIF), in San Pedro de Macorís, for the corresponding procedures.
