Santiago de los Caballeros – At an event attended by President Luis Abinader and Vice President Raquel Peña, La Fabril inaugurated its third refinery, marking an important milestone in its history in the country.

This new plant represents a strategic expansion, doubling the production capacity to reach 400 tons of edible oils and fats per day, with an investment of five million pesos.

During the ceremony, the president of Grupo Linda, Félix M. García, highlighted that this investment will not only strengthen the company’s competitiveness, but will also generate new direct and indirect employment opportunities, boosting the economic and social development of the region.

“We are also completing this significant investment in cutting-edge equipment and technology in this refinery, which exceeds 5 billion pesos, by extending new operating models in the areas of sales and marketing,” said García.

For his part, the general manager of La Fabril, Bernardo Espínola, emphasized that in addition to the growth in production, La Fabril has three refineries equipped with cutting-edge technology for the production of products of the highest quality.

Below is the full speech by Engineer Félix García, president of the Linda Group

Thank you and good morning:

The first thing we would like to do is reiterate our sincere gratitude to His Excellency President Luis Abinader Corona. We are honored and happy to have his presence at this event that is so significant for us.

We appreciate the company of the honorable Vice President Raquel Peña, thank you for your support. We are very pleased to have you here with us today.

We are also joined by former President Hipólito Mejía, who, 23 years ago, participated in the inauguration of our first refinery, being at that time President of the Republic. Thank you Hipólito for being here again.

The affection for you three is without stinginess!

Distinguished authorities, clients, partners, friends, family, Grupo Linda, La Fabril Team, today is a great day and we feel the pride and happiness of this new achievement. Thank you for being here.

I would like to thank our partners for their presence: from AES Corporation and Grupo Martinón; the president of Corporación Masaveu, Fernando Masaveu; international guests with whom we share investments and business responsibilities. We are very pleased with their attendance at this event, a sign that collaboration transcends borders.

Ladies and gentlemen, an inauguration is an invitation to joy, to celebrate the achievement of an idea that has been put into action, which opens up opportunities and promises development. That is why we are pleased to share this event with you, where as of today the execution of a project to build the future with the creation of new direct jobs is taking shape and begins.

La Fabril, the company that brings us together today to announce and implement a significant expansion of its operations, is part of the Linda Group, which I am honored to represent and chair.

The Linda Group encompasses a wide variety of businesses that reflect our diversification and commitment to excellence. We are dedicated to the planting, harvesting and processing of agricultural products through Linda. Antillean packaging specializes in the production of metal containers, bottoms, cans and lithographic services. The Factoryfor its part, is responsible for the production of high-quality mass consumption in the food, personal and home care categories; while Dominican Die-Cuts manufactures packaging, lids and plastics. Finally, Toucan Paintings completes our portfolio with its line of high-quality paints.

In addition to our core operations, we make significant investments in strategic areas. In the energy sector, we participate in key companies such as ITABO and AES. In the health sector, we have investments in the Metropolitan Hospital of Santiago. We are also present in Seguros Universal and in the transport and logistics sector, with the Cibao International Airport and Divercon. We also invest in tourism and construction, which are key areas for regional development.

We have a serious commitment to food, energy and health, three important pillars of the growth of any nation.

A careful look at our Group and its origins reveals our manufacturing vocation, yes, manufacturing!, which is certainly one of the most demanding in the business world, but also the one that brings the greatest satisfaction: this is how we bring oil, sauce, grains, cashews, corn, milk and others to Dominican tables, all essential products of the highest quality.

As can be seen, the Linda Group broadly covers the market and the entire national geography with its products, job creation, investments and technology.

We have the experience, the capacity and the competence.

Always keeping our focus on the field and national production.

Today, when many other industries have migrated to other activities, we remain, innovating and growing as evidenced by this expansion of the Fabril operations, an emblematic name as identification and example of the Linda Group.

This significant investment that we are making today in cutting-edge equipment and technology in this refinery, which exceeds 5 billion pesos, is also complemented by extending new operating models in the areas of sales and marketing.

Last night as I reflected on the thoughts and words I wanted to share with you, I was reminded of the years we have been in these entrepreneurial endeavors: More than half a century of hard workaustere, of trial and error and in which prosperity has not always accompanied us, only perseverance, attentive to the demand to produce changes and in other cases to adapt to those changes. A company requires daily care and, to a greater extent, dedication.

Something of capital importance is that in all the actions of the different companies of the Linda Group, we have as our guiding principle to serve: to take care of our consumers, the client, to protect our valuable staff, our shareholders and to maintain our commitment to the protection of the environment. These are the values and principles that guide us.

Therefore, we will continue working, committed to the future because we trust in our people, in our country and in the actions of this government headed by President Abinader. Even with this investment in our operations, we join the extraordinary efforts and investments that his government is making in the city and province of Santiago.

Mr. President, we count on your support and leadership; investments and work only prosper in an environment of peace and social development.

Collaboration between the private and public sectors is essential to achieve sustainable progress. Only by joining forces can we generate a real and lasting impact for the benefit of our country.

And as Henry Ford said: ‘Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress, and working together is success.’

Thank you very much and good morning!
