“La Clave de Luis”: promotion of training and legacy of Dominican artists

"La Clave de Luis": fomento a la formación y legado de los artistas dominicanos

Important artists such as Milly Quezada, Pavel Núñez and Techy Fatule are part of its founding council, and will promote programs that will benefit dozens of new talents

With the programs “La Clave de Luis” and “Impulso Manolin” and the first announcement of what will be “Dominican Music Week”, the Fundación La Oreja Media Inc., a non-profit organization with the purpose of to promote education in the arts and entertainment business in the Dominican Republic, in order to promote the quality and preparation of musicians, artists, composers, managers and executives from all areas of the entertainment business through talks, conferences, workshops and scholarships.

One of the first programs that are already being promoted is “La Clave de Luis”, a scholarship created in honor of the great Dominican composers Luis Diaz, Luis Alberti, Luis Kalaff and Luis Rivera, which will support popular Dominican music (Merengue, Bachata , Salsa) with an annual grant of RD$200,000.00 pesos, to which students who are finishing school and/or enrolled in a university in the Dominican Republic, between the ages of 17 and 25, and a portfolio of popular musical work can apply. unpublished (Merengue, Bachata, Salsa), among other requirements.

The selection to receive the scholarship will be made through a competitive process delimited by outstanding artists, composers, producers and executives of Latin American music under the supervision of Porfirio “Popi” Piña.

The period to complete the application for “La clave de Luis” begins on September 1 until November 30, 2022, and the winner will be announced in the first week of January 2023.

Likewise, the Dominican artist Techy Fatule presents within the foundation the “Impulso Manolín” program, in honor of her grandfather Manolín Baéz, whose mission is to help entrepreneurs and innovators with limited resources so that they can successfully navigate the challenging journey of building your business, managing help with sponsors through financial contributions and mentoring.

The great event that will unite the Dominican music industry, the “Dominican Music Week”, which will take place in mid-2023 with the participation of the most important artists, executives and personalities of Dominican and international entertainment, has already been announced. and whose details will be announced next year.

The founding council of La Oreja Media Foundation is made up of Milly Quezada, Pavel Núñez, Larissa Martínez, Techy Fatule, Patz Guerrero, Mayra Tejada, Kevin “Pills” Montano and Porfirio Piña.
