The Church of La Candelaria becomes a museumwith the exhibition «José Gregorio Hernández: The Saint of Dialogue», an exhibition dedicated to the life, work and legacy of the town’s doctor, regarding his sanctification alongside the blessed Mother Carmen Rendiles.
The exhibition is structured in eight thematic modules, through documents on the most significant events in the lives of the saints, especially José Gregorio Hernández, which cover his academic training, his work as a pioneering doctor and scientist, his profound spirituality, his impact on the religious world and the process of beatification and canonization.
“I invite you to come here, to the La Candelaria church, to visit the exhibition. As long as the church is open, the exhibition will be open, for at least three months,” he reported. Juan Carlos Hernandezdirector of Ideografiko Creative Studiothe entity in charge of producing and conceptualizing this museum exhibition, which includes more than six thousand infographics that talk about the life and work of the Saint of Venezuela.
This exhibition was inaugurated with a mass offered by the parish priest of the church of La Candelaria, Father Gerardino Barracchini, who indicated that on Sunday, October 19, they will gather to hold a vigil in honor of the elevation to the altar of the first two Venezuelan saints.
It is expected that, at midnight on the day of the canonization in the Vatican, the temple will open its doors to have a prayer vigil and then, with the giant screens in the square, watch the incidents of the ceremony and carry the image of José Gregorio, “who is on the altar, will be in the square and will be given the silver halo that already identifies him as Saint José Gregorio Hernández.”
