The Shipibo-Konibo community raises its voice with the campaign “Kushi – The value of being brave”a call to revalue their ancestral art and defend their cultural identity. Led by Milka Franco, a renowned Shipibo artist, and supported by the Paracas brand, this initiative seeks to raise awareness about the richness of Amazonian art and confront its lack of recognition.
“What is done daily in workshops like this is worth a Peru”says Franco, who highlights the bravery of Shipibo women as guardians of an ancestral legacy.
In addition to making this struggle visible, Paracas acquired part of the artistic production of this group of women, committing to bring their art to more Peruvians and give it the value it deserves. “Play a good role”the campaign assures, is also an act of social and cultural change.
Those interested in supporting this cause can purchase pieces of Shipibo art by following the brand’s social networks.
