The Minister of Economy, Martín Guzmán, and the Minister of Productive Development, Matías Kulfas, highlighted this Monday the recovery of real wages that has been recorded in the management of Alberto Fernández, contrary to what happened during the macrismo, when he went back “twenty points”, and reaffirmed the conviction that economic growth “must be shared, equitable”, so that one can speak of “development” instead of “recovery”.

In this way, the head of the Treasury Palace highlighted the “objective absolutely shared by all of us who form part of this Government” in that “real wages must grow”and, after indicating that in the last year the increase in wages was “60%, that is, they rose above inflation,” he maintained that “the conditions are in place for real wages to be strengthened and the dynamics less heterogeneous than last year”.

This was expressed in an interview he gave to FM Urbana Play radio, in which he considered “obvious” that “there must be an advance” in the increase in the Minimum, Vital and Mobile Salary (SMVM), whose increase traditionally takes place in the second half of the year, “to ensure that it grows in real terms”.

For his part, in statements made to FM Radio Con Vos, Matias Kulfas recalled that, “during the Government of (Mauricio) Macri”, the real salary “lost 20 points”, while, in the management of Alberto Fernández “about 5 or 6 points have been recovered”.

“Obviously at a much lower rate than we would like, but in a context of a pandemic and a very serious problem of international prices that did not exist a few years ago, industry and employment in the industrial sector are still growing,” he stressed. the holder of the productive portfolio.

In this way, he considered that “The real salary of the private sector registered in Argentina today is approximately at a level similar to that of the beginning of 2011”.

For his part, the Minister of Economy, Martín Guzmán, reaffirmed the Government’s objective of promoting the recovery of real wages by pointing out that “of course we agree with the idea that the Minimum, Vital and Mobile Wage beats inflation “, and indicate that it is a point that “is discussed in the Salary Council”.

“We are going to maintain the discussion in the Salary Council, aiming for the SMVyM to grow in real terms,” said the head of the Palacio de Hacienda in his statements to Urbana Play.

While, Kulfas went to the crossroads of those who say that “the workers lost against the business sector in distributive matters” and maintained that, “what this omits is that, in reality, it is not that wage earners lost” but that “profits grew more than wages.”

“If you look, the increase was 60%, that is, it rose above inflation, in all wages paid,” Kulfas emphasized regarding the previous period.

“After a 2020 in which a lot of sectors had negative returns, there began to be a significant rebound, thanks to measures such as the ATP”, the Work and Production Assistance program that paid part of the wages of private workers, Kulfas said.

In addition, in the same way as Guzmán, Kulfas minimized the differences within the Frente de Todos, stating that “although divergences appear regarding how, in the Frente de Todos (FDT) we all have absolute coincidences regarding the direction we want for Argentina”.

This is, he continued, “a productive, industrial Argentina with social justice. Argentina moves forward with an axis in industrialization, Argentine work and new technologiesKulfas concluded.

For its part, by broadcasting through the social network Twitter the interview granted by Martín Guzmán, the spokeswoman for the Presidency, Gabriela Cerruti, stated that “Argentina’s way out is from above” and maintained that “our country can occupy a very important space.”

“We have opportunities in different sectors such as industry, technological development and agriculture. We want to take care of the present in such a way that it builds a future for the Nation,” said the spokeswoman.
