Kosovo, the new country that opens an embassy in Bogotá

The Colombian president, Gustavo Petro, received this Tuesday at the Casa de Nariño, headquarters of the Executive, his counterpart from Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu, a meeting in which they discussed issues on the bilateral agenda and which is part of a visit in which the president inaugurates her country’s embassy in Bogotá.

Osmani-Sadri was received with military honors in the Plaza de Armas of the Casa de Nariño.

The president is recognized for her firm leadership in the fight against sexual violence in armed conflicts and On Monday he attended the commemoration of the eight years since the signing of the peace agreement between the Colombian Government and the then FARC guerrilla.

The Balkan country’s delegation is made up of members of the government cabinet and advisors to the president, including Learta Hollaj, Rejhan Vuniqi and the business manager in Colombia, Artan Duraku.

This delegation met with the Colombian vice presidentFrancia Márquez; the chancellor, Luis Gilberto Murillo, and the director of the Administrative Department of the Presidency, Laura Sarabia, among others.

Osmani was elected in 2021 by Parliament and for a period of five years. She is the second post-war female president of the Balkan country and the youngest in its history. Kosovo obtained its independence in 2008 and is recognized by a hundred countries, including Colombia.
