Know the cost to stamp the passport when leaving the country through Táchira

The payment to stamp the passport is only for leaving the state through the international bridges, it is not for entering, just like the payment of exit taxes from the terminals or airports, it will only be for leaving

The Legislative Council of Táchira approved the State Tax Systems Law, which allows the collection of 2% on bank credits and the payment for stamping the passport when leaving through the international bridges of the border with Colombia.

“The fee that will be charged for passport stamping is something that has been implemented for years, this tax has always existed, only with the issue of closing the border and the pandemic, this issue was paralyzed,” said the Legislative Council deputy. of the state of Táchira (CLET) Yanire Chacón, president of the Finance Commission, reviewed The nation.

The tax that will be charged to stamp the passport is 10 Tax Units of the state of Táchira (UTET)which is equivalent to 36.22 bolivars.

In the case of the payment of taxes applied in the terminals or airports, it will also be for citizens who wish to leave the state to other entities of the country. Departure from airports: 10 UTET (Bs. 36.40) for each passenger traveling abroad; and 5 UTET (Bs. 18.2) for each passenger traveling within the country.

Departure from land terminals: 5 UTET (Bs. 18.2) for each passenger traveling within the country; and 10 UTET (Bs. 36.40) per passenger going abroad.

“In this Law, one of the things that will be implemented is the electronic tax stamp, something that will expedite the procedures, but this is not a Law to implement new taxes, as deputies we are to work for the citizen,” added Chacón.

Faced with the warnings that national deputies intend to appeal the Tax Law before the Supreme Court of Justice, Chacón explained that no lawsuit is in order, since updating or creating this type of law is contemplated within state powers.

“I want to ratify that this Law already existed, only now we are going to have greater control over taxes, because the Governor (Freddy Bernal) deserves to invest in the state and that can only be achieved through taxes,” Chacón emphasized.

He explained that the Tax Law is being reviewed by the State Government, so that if there are no corrections, it will be published in the Official Gazette.
