‘Nocaut’ is a documentary film about the life of the young boxer Yilmar González, national boxing champion, which premiered a few days ago in his native neighborhood, Siloé, on the hillside of Cali.
This is the first time that a filmmaker is interested in telling the story of an athlete from Comuna 20.
The film premiered in the La Estrella de Siloé sector, the athlete told TuBarco about his experience as the protagonist of the film.
In the international framework of Cine de Cali, Nocaut was premiered, a film that honors all the athletes of the Valle del Cauca capital, while telling the story of a son of Siloé.
He is Yilmar González, a young athlete who narrates his path to become a national champion, even with few opportunities, but with a lot of passion.
The film took more than six years to be released to the public, that process included many challenges, including getting the money to bring it to the big screen.
José Varon García is the director of the film and says he is very proud to show Yilmar’s story.

For his part, Yilmar feels very proud to be from Siloé for having fought for his dreams and that is the invitation he extends to everyone.
“That they continue fighting for their dreams, it is known that the neighborhood is low-income but that does not mean that we are going to throw in the towel,” he says.
