The Cuban flutist and clarinetist Niurka González Núñez received on Saturday the Knight Order of Arts and Letters, awarded by the Minister of Culture of the French Republic.
It was delivered by the French ambassador in Havana, Patrice Paoli, at the concert for the 25th anniversary of the Ondina Duo –which it integrates together with the pianist María del Henar Navarro García– and for its 45th birthday, both celebrations in the Minor Basilica of the Convent of San Francisco de Asís, in Old Havana.
Patrice Paoli pondered the artistic and human values of the concert artist, who in her professional career has distinguished herself for her creations, for her artistic mastery and for her contribution to the splendor of her country’s culture in the world, through the execution of numerous works from the French music repertoire, reviewed the ACN.
The Knight Order of Arts and Letters has been awarded since 1957 and is one of the main decorations among the four ministerial orders of the French Republic.
