With six votes in favor and none against, the Congressional Ethics Commission unanimously approved opening an ex officio investigation against parliamentarian Kira Alcarraz for having attacked a worker from the Tax Administration Service (SAT) during a vehicle control operation.
This afternoon, from 4:00 p.m., the working group chaired by Elvis Vergara approved to investigate it. Only six congressmen attended this commission and voted in favor of the measure. Among them are the names of Elvis Vergara, Rosangella Barbarán, Héctor Ventura, Nelcy Ballesteros, Roberto Kamiche and Margot Palacios.
Alcarraz’s violent behavior was recorded in a video in which the legislator’s physical aggression is confirmed during the intervention of a vehicle she owned that had an arrest warrant for a traffic violation debt.
Although the irate congresswoman denied the attack, the images from the Cuarto Poder program leave no doubt about her violent reaction upon learning that her vehicle would be taken.
In the video you can see the legislator dressed in red and upset by the protocols followed by the SAT, raising her voice, threatening and finally attacking the inspector who already denounced the parliamentarian. Far from publicly apologizing for the obvious, Alcárraz continues to call his behavior a lie.
But this will not be the only complaint against the non-group that the Ethics Commission will see, which will also put to a vote the reconsideration of the ex officio complaint against Alcarraz for the threats he made last October against the journalist Marycielo del Castillo.
In the first vote, the votes in abstention exceeded those for and against.
The legislator at that time in Podemos Peru reacted violently against the communicator after she approached her to ask about the hiring of her son’s partner in her office.
Alcarraz lashed out with a physical warning, making his level of anger clear: “Look, if I were upset, rest assured, I would have already slammed you against the wall,” Alcarraz mentioned.
When the journalist tried to calm the situation by questioning her state of mind, the response of the Podemos Peru congresswoman was even more aggressive and threatening:
“Don’t tell me that I’m upset, because you haven’t seen me upset, my love. The day you see me upset, rest assured that not even your mother will want to be by your side,” he replied violently.
Far from offering an apology or retracting it, the parliamentarian confirmed that she would be capable of physically attacking her. He even reiterated the threat by confirming that the reporter’s life depended on her not losing control.
This time it was the same. After his violent attitude against the SAT inspector, Alcarraz did not apologize and through his X account, he rejected the accusations and questioned the procedure applied by the entity.
I leave the facts in the hands of the authorities. The SAT acted arbitrarily, without notification or due procedure. I defend my rights and those of thousands of drivers. Enough of abuses and improper charges,” wrote the congresswoman.
