Two members of the gang founded by Carlos Gámez (Carlito Gámez) were killed during a confrontation that occurred in the La Julia sector, José Ángel Lamas municipality (Santa Cruz de Aragua), according to military reports.
The killed were identified as Óscar Alejandro Avendaño Sánchez (El Negro) and Alejandro Daniel Ponce Hernández (Alejandrito) who possessed two pistols: Beretta Cougar 8000 caliber 9 mm and Browning caliber 7.65 mm, with no visible serial number, according to a report from the National Anti-Extortion Command. and Kidnapping (Conas) 42.
Ponce and Avendaño are accused of participating in the kidnapping of Alejandra Valeria Orellana Rojas and a one-year-old baby, an event that occurred on December 15 and whose rescue was carried out by Conas at the entrance to Maracay (Aragua).
Also in Aragua, but in Villa de Cura, Mata de Café sector, the military seized a firearm of non-industrialized manufacture and a radio transmitter, according to a report from Detachment 421 of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB).
The aforementioned material was in the possession of Rafael Rojas Camacho, who was detained and at the disposal of the Public Ministry.
Anti-kidnapping. In Barinas, Conas agents arrested a member of the Marulanda group, dedicated to kidnapping and extortion.
In that case, officials received a complaint made against a subject who was demanding a large sum in dollars to leave a person alone. The agents designed a controlled delivery operation through which they captured Jorge Leonardo Cañizares Piña, one of those reported for extortion, according to a Conas 33 report.
The aforementioned procedure was carried out in the town of Curbati, Pedraza municipality, Barinas state.
In the state of Monagas, two firearms were seized. One of them is a .22 revolver carried by David José Mujica Caldosa, who was arrested in the El Silencio sector, Maturín (Monagas).
While in El Guamache, Cedeño municipality (Caicara de Maturín), the military detained José Armando Rivas Rondón, from whom they seized a firearm of non-industrialized manufacture and two 7.62×39 mm caliber cartridges, according to a report from the Detachment 514 of the GNB.
Those arrested will be prosecuted for illegal possession of a firearm, among other crimes.
