The governor of the province of Buenos Aires, Axel Kicillof, assured that his administration “will accompany the workers who never lowered their arms” and considered them a “fundamental part of democracy”, by participating in Moreno in the closing of the National Congress of the Current Federal Workers (CFT) of the CGT.

“We are going to accompany the workers who have never lowered their arms and are a fundamental part of a genuine democracy, which is one in which they deliberate and participate, in which the unions are protagonists and, as Argentine history shows, they mobilize and conquer rights,” Kicillof added, according to an official statement.

The meeting was attended by union leaders and representatives from all over the country who discussed “strategic aspects related to politics, the economy and the unions.”

In this framework, Kicillof stressed that “the Federal Current, which has met to deliberate and share ideas, represents the best of the Argentine labor movement’s tradition of struggle.”

“Faced with the present crisis, we need to be clear about where we stand and what are the instruments that will allow us to generate equal opportunities. There are great dilemmas, there are also certainties. These crises must find us united as a people based on the principles of economic independence. and social justice”, he stressed.

Kicillof also pointed out that “for growth to be solid and sustainable, it is essential to improve the distribution of wealth and income.”

“Collective organization is the only possible way to win rights and the province is going to accompany the workers who have never lowered their arms and continue to fight so that our people have the well-being and happiness they deserve,” he said.

The act was attended by the general secretaries of the Banking Association, Sergio Palazzo; from the Buenos Aires Graphic Federation, Héctor Amichetti; from the Argentine Television Union (SATSAID), Horacio Arreceygor; from the Association of Senior Staff of Energy Companies (APSEE), Carlos Minucci; and from the Union of Metallurgical Workers (UOM), Abel Furlán.

Amichetti, for his part, assured that “unions are not only here to defend wages, but also to fight for a project for a country with economic independence and social justice.”

The general secretary of the Tanners Workers’ Union, Walter Correa, also participated in the event; of the Federation of Unions of Municipal Workers, Ignacio Monzón; from the Union of Hierarchical Personnel of Telecommunications Companies, Fabián Boccella; from the Dairy Industry Workers’ Union (ATILRA), Heber Ríos; Fabián Catanzaro from the National Highway Workers Union; from the Argentine Railways and Ports Management Staff Association (APDFA), Adrián Silva; and the Single Union of Advertising, Vicente Álvarez, among others.
