The governor of the province of Buenos Aires, Axel Kicillof, affirmed that “education and technical training are the best ways to generate equal opportunities”, when inaugurating the Higher Institute of Technical Training (ISFT) No. 240 in Virrey del Pino , municipality of La Matanza, was reported in a statement.

“We continue with the decision to add education and technical, professional and teaching training in La Matanza, because it is the way to generate equal opportunities again. Together with the unions and with the support of the municipalities, we are going to continue expanding the educational system to reach all the people of Buenos Aires”, highlighted Kicillof during an act held in the most populous party in the province.

The president was accompanied by the general director of Culture and Education, Alberto Sileoni; the local mayor, Fernando Espinoza; the general secretary of the Argentine Federation of Light and Power Workers (FATLyF), Guillermo Moser; the president of the Regional Electrical Forum of Buenos Aires (FREBA), Fernando Pini; and the Undersecretary of Buenos Aires Energy, Gastón Ghioni.

Provincial Executive sources indicated that In this institute, the Higher Technician in Electrical Energy oriented to Transportation and Distribution of Electricity is dictated, which has a three-year study plan.

The educational entity currently has an enrollment of 40 students, who upon completion of their studies will be prepared to plan, supervise and carry out the operation and maintenance of electrical networks.

ISFT No. 240 works in the facilities of the Luz y Fuerza Social Development Center, where the classes of the Vocational Training Center (CFP) No. 407 are also taught.

“We come from a time when 33 schools were closed because the authorities of the Province said that they could not be sustained. During the four years of the Cambiemos government there was an attack against public education which, like health and safety, was defunded despite the largest external debt in the history of our country,” the governor remarked.

Fernando Espinoza

Meanwhile, Espinoza emphasized that “this institute in Virrey del Pino should have been opened a long time before, but we were unable to do so because for four years policies prevailed that lowered the budgets allocated to education.”

“Today is a very special day because, after having gone through the pandemic, we can create a space in which our neighbors build a better future, in which they have the possibility of making their dreams come true,” he said.
